  4. 1)    UUNET exercises no control whatsoever over the content 
  5.     of the information passing through AlterNet. UUNET 
  6.     makes no warranties of any kind, whether expressed or 
  7.     implied, for the service it is providing. UUNET also 
  8.     disclaims any warranty of merchantability or fitness for 
  9.     a particular purpose. UUNET will not be responsible for 
  10.     any damage you suffer. This includes loss of data resulting 
  11.     from delays, nondeliveries, misdeliveries, or service 
  12.     interruptions caused by its own negligence or your errors or 
  13.     omissions. Use of any information obtained via AlterNet is 
  14.     at your own risk. UUNET specifically denies any 
  15.     responsibility for the accuracy or quality of information 
  16.     obtained through its services.

  18. 2)    AlterNet may only be used for lawful purposes. Transmission 
  19.     of any material in violation of any US or state regulation 
  20.     is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: 
  21.     copyrighted material, material legally judged to be 
  22.     threatening or obscene, or material protected by trade secret. 
  23.     You agree to indemnify and hold harmless UUNET from any claims 
  24.     resulting from your use of the service which damages you or 
  25.     another party.

  27. 3)    Any access to other networks connected to AlterNet must comply 
  28.     with the rules appropriate for that other network. This 
  29.     specifically, but not exclusively, includes NSFNET. Use of 
  30.     AlterNet itself may be for any lawful purpose. Use of AlterNet 
  31.     for lawful commercial purposes is both permitted and encouraged. 
  32.     Connectivity is provided for your organization only. Resale or 
  33.     use of the connection by another organization is prohibited.

  35. 4)    Payment is due 30 days after date of invoice. Accounts are in 
  36.     default if payment is not received within 45 days after date of 
  37.     invoice. If your payment is returned to us unpaid you are 
  38.     immediately in default and subject to a returned check charge 
  39.     of $25 from us. Accounts unpaid 60 days after date of invoice 
  40.     may have their service interrupted. Such interruption does not 
  41.     relieve you from the obligation to pay the monthly charge. Only 
  42.     a written request to terminate your service relieves you of your 
  43.     obligation to pay the monthly account charge. Accounts in default 
  44.     are subject to an interest charge of 1.5% per month on the 
  45.     outstanding balance. If your state law does not allow an interest 
  46.     rate of 1.5% per month, the maximum allowable rate for your state 
  47.     will be charged. If you default, you agree to pay UUNET its 
  48.     reasonable expenses, including attorney and collection agency 
  49.     fees, incurred in enforcing its rights under these Terms and 
  50.     Conditions.

  52. 5)    Service is invoiced monthly in advance and may be cancelled in 
  53.     writing with 60 days notice with no penalty. UUNET reserves the 
  54.     right to change the rates and otherwise modify these Terms and 
  55.     Conditions by notifying you 60 days in advance of the effective 
  56.     date of the change.

  58. 6)    These Terms and Conditions supersede all previous representations, 
  59.     understandings or agreements and shall prevail notwithstanding 
  60.     any variance with terms and conditions of any order submitted. 
  61.     Use of AlterNet constitutes acceptance of these Terms and 
  62.     Conditions.
